Frequently asked questions

The camera says “No camera access yet”. How do I turn it on?

iOS asks for permission the first time Suteki Stickie opens the camera. If you chose not to allow it, you can turn it back on:

  • Tap “Turn on in Settings” on the camera screen, or open the iPhone’s Settings → Suteki Stickie.
  • Turn on Camera. To record sound with your clips, turn on Microphone as well.
  • Go back to the app and try again.
Why do I sometimes get a photo instead of a cutout sticker?

Sticker mode uses Apple’s on-device features to find the subject of your photo. When it can’t find one, the app shows “No subject found, so it was made into a photo” and keeps a normal photo, so your shot isn’t wasted.

For cleaner cutouts, try this:

  • Give the subject some contrast with the background — something dark on a light table, for example.
  • Shoot in good light, and avoid backlight and camera shake.
  • Keep the whole subject in frame: not too small, and not cut off at the edges.
  • People, pets and things with clear outlines work best; see-through, shiny or very fine things are harder to cut out.
  • Press and hold the mode buttons on the left to change the border, or the frame in photo mode.
How do I export an MP4, GIF or Live Photo?

When a page has a moving photo or sticker on it, you can export the whole page with its motion:

  • Tap the page number at the top of the screen to open paper and pages.
  • Under “Export this page”, choose “Export with motion (video, GIF, Live Photo)”.
  • Pick a format (MP4 video, GIF or Live Photo), then “Save to Photos” or “Share”.
  • “Original sound” is the sound recorded with your clips. Only MP4 video keeps it; GIF and Live Photo don’t include sound.
  • For a still image, choose “Share as image” or “Save to Photos” under “Export this page”.
How do I add stickers to WhatsApp?

WhatsApp needs to be installed on your iPhone.

  • Swipe up on the drawer at the bottom and switch to “Stickers”.
  • Tap “Select” and choose 3 to 30 stickers (WhatsApp’s rule for each pack).
  • Tap “Add to WhatsApp” and follow WhatsApp’s steps to save the pack.
  • WhatsApp doesn’t allow moving and still stickers in the same pack, so choose one kind.
Are my photos and journal uploaded? Will I lose them on a new phone?

Nothing is uploaded. Suteki Stickie has no account: your photos, stickers, pages, handwriting and settings stay on your device, and cutouts, beauty and filters all happen on the device too. New stickers and templates are downloaded from our website — that’s a download only; none of your content is ever sent.

Because your data lives only on this iPhone, deleting the app deletes it too. When you move to a new iPhone, use an iCloud backup or Quick Start to bring it across, and export any pages that matter to Photos first.

What is the ad at the bottom? Does it track me?

The banner at the bottom comes from Google AdMob and keeps Suteki Stickie free. The app asks for non-personalised ads only, and your photos and journal are never used for ads. Google still processes technical data such as your IP address and device model to serve ads, measure them and prevent abuse — see the privacy policy for details.

Where consent is required (for example in the EEA and the UK), you’ll see Google’s consent form the first time you open the app, and you can change your choice any time in the app’s Settings → “Ad privacy choices”.
