NoMore Waste

Privacy policy

Effective: October 23, 2026

NoMore Waste is an inventory and schedule app for skincare products and supplements. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, where it is stored, and how you can get it back or delete it. We collect only the data the app needs to work.

1. What we collect

  • Account: your email address, and the display name and profile photo you choose. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive only Apple's private relay address.
  • Your products and records: product details, opening and expiration dates, amount remaining, usage records, notes, custom routines and your daily schedule. This is the content of the app itself, and it is also what routine recommendations are based on.
  • Skincare settings and skin condition: skin type, skincare goals, daily skin condition entries (for example redness, dryness or breakouts), gender, age group and region. You fill in all of these yourself, and you can change them or leave them blank at any time.
  • Photos: product photos, your profile photo, and photos you publish through the community sharing feature (Inspo). Product photos are stored in a private space that only you can read; profile photos and photos in community posts are public by nature.
  • Studio photos: custom scene and custom sticker photos in Studio are stored on your device and are not uploaded to our servers; they are deleted from the device when you sign out or delete your account. If your device has iCloud or computer backup turned on, these photos may be backed up together with other app data.
  • On-device photo processing: removing the background from product photos and making stickers are both done on your device using the system's built-in image recognition, and no photos are sent for this. This is different from the AI shelf scan in section 3, which needs to send photos to a server.
  • Diagnostics: a report when a data sync fails permanently, including the type of data that failed, the action, the number of attempts, the error message, the app version and the update channel. This report does not include your products or skin condition entries.
  • Feedback and reports: feedback you choose to send (its content, the reply email you choose to leave, the app version and device platform), reports about community content, and suggested corrections to product information. These are used only to follow up on your feedback and handle reports.
  • Edits to catalog products: if you switch a catalog product to a custom version and change its details, we record the product, the fields you changed and their values before and after, to improve the product catalog. This record does not include your account or any device identifier, and it is deleted automatically after one year.

2. What we don't collect

  • No tracking across apps or websites. We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), so we do not show you personalized ads, and we do not hand your data to data brokers. The app contains no analytics or attribution SDKs.
  • We do not collect your location. The region in the app is one you choose yourself in settings; it is not location data.
  • We do not read your contacts, calls or messages.
  • We do not collect your browsing history, and we do not store the search terms you enter in the app.
  • We do not sell or rent your personal data. Apart from the technical data our ad provider must process to serve banner ads (see section 5), we do not share your data for advertising or analytics.

3. AI shelf scan

When you use the AI shelf scan, the photo you take of your shelf is sent to our server and then passed to our AI provider (Anthropic) to identify the names of the products in it.

We do not store the photo; it is discarded as soon as identification is complete, and we keep only the number of scans you have used that day, to count against your allowance. The results are sent back to your device, and you decide whether to add them to your Shelf.

4. Where your data is stored

Your data is stored in a Supabase database (built on Amazon Web Services) in Tokyo, Japan, with row-level security that lets only your account read and write your own data. Photos are stored in the same service's storage.

Your data is also kept in a local database on your device, so the app still works offline; it is uploaded and synced once you are back online.

5. Third-party services we use

  • Supabase — accounts, database and photo storage.
  • Apple — Sign in with Apple.
  • Google — Sign in with Google.
  • Anthropic — only when you use the AI shelf scan, to identify products in shelf photos.
  • Expo — delivering app updates.
  • Google AdMob — shows banner ads on the Free plan only. We request non-personalized ads only, but Google still processes your IP address, device model and ad interaction records to serve ads and prevent abuse. Ads are no longer shown once you upgrade to Premium.
  • RevenueCat — handles in-app purchases and subscription status.
  • Resend — forwards the feedback, reports and suggested product corrections you send to our team by email, so we can follow up.

6. Public content

If you publish a post or comment through the community sharing feature (Inspo), that content, any photos attached to it, and your display name and profile photo are visible to other users of that feature. Your Shelf, schedule and skin condition entries are never made public.

7. Retention and deletion

  • We keep your data until you delete it or delete your account. The exception is the record of edits to catalog products described in section 1: it does not include your account, and it is deleted automatically after one year.
  • You can delete your account directly in Profile → Account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone: your account, products, schedule, records, photos and diagnostic reports are all removed.
  • After you delete your account, any copies left in backups expire within the service providers' regular backup cycle.

8. Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your data at any time, all directly in the app. If you need an exported copy, or have questions about how we handle your data, please email support@nomorewaste.app. You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority where you live.

9. Children

NoMore Waste is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please email support@nomorewaste.app and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will change the effective date at the top of the page. If there is a significant change, such as a new category of data collection, we will also tell you in the app.
